Appel à contribution (CFA) Medieval Philosophy Mini-Conference at the Saint Louis Annual Symposium for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (June 12-14, 2023)

Call for Abstracts: Medieval Philosophy Mini-Conference at the Saint Louis Annual Symposium for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (June 12-14, 2023)

Every year, the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Saint Louis University (https://www.smrs-slu.org/) hosts a symposium on medieval and Renaissance studies. The tenth symposium will take place next June 12-14, 2023. As with other large, inter-disciplinary conferences of this kind, there is ample to room to expand the representation of philosophy. Moreover, the symposium provides historians of philosophy the opportunity to see what research is being conducted in other areas, e.g. medieval and Renaissance intellectual history, art history, literature, etc.

We are, therefore, proposing to organize a mini-conference devoted to medieval philosophy. Proposed Sessions will include:

  1. Medieval Philosophy: Metaphysical Themes
  2. Medieval Philosophy: Ethical & Political Themes
  3. Medieval Philosophy: Philosophical Theology
  4. Medieval Philosophy: Epistemological Themes

We welcome abstracts on any topic and any philosopher that falls within these areas, extending into the Renaissance and late Scholasticism. Please submit abstracts of about 200 words and include a short CV.

Deadline for abstracts: January 30th, 2023

Notification date: Feb. 15th, 2023

Organizers:
